Interest rates have kept people from listing their homes because it is hard to think about moving to a 6% rate when you are currently paying 3%. You start thinking…can I find what I want for the same price? Will I fall in love with a new house? YES TO ALL OF THESE!
The expressions goes, “Marry the House, Date the Rate”. Interest rates are just a temporary situation and they will change. Economists feel that we have really seen the top of the interest rates and we will have more stability in the future. You need to find the house that best suits your needs for the situation you are currently finding yourself in.
The days are over when you would spend 30-40 years in the same house. Jobs, kids, personal situations and finances have kept people moving around for years. So, don’t panic if you feel the itch to move and you aren’t seeing what you want on the market. I promise, it will come! No house is perfect but taking a house that meets most of your needs then making it yours, will benefit you the most and you will see an economic upside in value.
